COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
At R17, our mission is to reinvest in the communities we serve. We provide funding to our portfolio businesses, empowering them to engage with and support local communities, even in their early stages.

Daisy Chain
In September last year, some of the R17 Energy group took part in a day of volunteering at Daisy Chain, a charity dedicated to supporting autistic and neurodivergent children, young people, and adults. The team traded in their laptops and OrcaFlex licenses for gardening tools, contributing their efforts to help maintain the charity's grounds.

Emsley Engineering Awards
Each summer, R17 HQ proudly hosts the Emsley Engineering Awards, presented by the Mayor of Rochdale, Janet Emsley. This exciting initiative challenges local primary school students to design innovative green engineering solutions aimed at enhancing the local community. The winning concept is brought to life, with the student’s vision fully realized. Following this, we host a special awards evening to celebrate the completed project, showcasing the fully manufactured and functioning solution.
Jute Sports Sponsor RAFC
Jute Sports, a football agency within R17's community sector, used funding to reinvest in our local football club, Rochdale. This initiative aims to scout local talent and create new opportunities for youth in the area, helping them develop their skills and pursue their football aspirations.

Made In Manchester
In November last year, a few members of the R17 Energy group attended the ‘Made in Greater Manchester’ event, hosted by Jonathan Reynolds MP and Mayor Andy Burnham. The event focused on helping local businesses, particularly SMEs, expand globally. Our portfolio business 'Vesipro' will be joining the UK trade mission to Osaka in June 2025 during the World Expo.
